About Me

As an Educator & Artist

My name is Richard Wills I am an Art Educator and Printmaker from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I have always loved creating art, and had an Art Teacher in high school who pushed me to succeed. He helped me grow as an artist, and taught me the importance of showing your art work. I have been competing and showing my work ever since. As a Teacher I am continuing what I was taught, and have high expectations for my students. My goal is to help them grow as an individual and as an artist. I have been known for the dedication and energy I put into my work, and hope to pass this legacy onto my students.

As a Tech Enthusiast/Graphic Designer

My B.A. is in Graphic Design/Fine Arts from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. As a Graphic Designer my projects ranged from fruit labels, promotional material both in print and web, book layouts, logos, T-Shirts, pre-press, magazines design/layout, and website creation. I worked in the design field for several years, and still do the occasional project. For several years in college I worked as a Help Desk Technician, troubleshooting and fixing machines software/hardware issues both over the phone and in person.

To say I am a little bit of a computer geek might be an understatement. I LOVE technology, but you have to learn how to use it well in the classroom. I am always on the hunt, searching about new technologies, and figuring it out how to use it.

It is a dream of mine to bring as much technology as I can into the art room, and show our young people there are other methods of creating art in addition to the traditional mediums.
